Renault Clio is one of the most popular city cars in Europe. Currently, the fifth generation of this beautiful and comfortable car is on the market, and next year it will undergo a major overhaul. The new Clio VI won’t make its debut until 2026.
Class B city cars are a goldmine for manufacturers, but they are also a big challenge. Due to its popularity and huge number of sales, a fierce battle and competition is going on here. Whoever produces the best, biggest, most delicious car, will win. Therefore, Renault is facing a very big challenge, which is not made easy by the confusion of the Euro 7 standard with cars powered by electricity and hydrogen.

Today it seems clear that e-mobility is growing slower than expected and the costs of developing electricians are not decreasing as quickly as politicians would like. Therefore, the coming years will be hybrids and Renault must take this into account in its plans. He will start with the Clio 5 upgrade.
And this should be a little bigger than the usual facelift, because the car will have to compete with what is seen on the market for three years. There will be a new 1.2 TCE engine (power from 90 to 130 HP) under the hood, there will also be a hybrid, inside we can also expect big changes in the central panel with a big screen and new services from Google.
The Clio 6 won’t appear until 2026 and one of the big new features is a new 1.8 hybrid. Depending on the market situation, development and the Euro 7 standard and electromobility, the manufacturer will make decisions about the presence of combustion engines. So far, there is no sign that he will give up on them.
