Citroën was considering the production of a modern turbine-powered car. The design office received an order to prepare such a project in1991 What happened next?
In the early eighties and nineties, manufacturers were looking for ways to stand out from the competition. Citroën, renowned for being an innovative manufacturer at the forefront of technical solutions, was considering introducing a completely new model. The idea was to create a modern body that would incorporate proven suspension solutions, while offering a completely new quality in terms of propulsion.
The concept developed by Daniel Abramson, then working in the design office of the brand, combined classic Citroen accents with completely new elements. The proposed car had a turbine engine taken directly from jets and turboprops, hydropneumatic suspension and a natural body shape.

In the drawing provided by the designer, we can also see the character of the sides of the car, which resemble a rocket and the original shape of the windshield, with concave elements on the sides. Also in this project look surprisingly modern – more than 20 years ago – large wheels in relation to the body.
In the end, the project was not developed beyond the concept phase, as it was found that the use of this type of engine in a passenger car is basically impossible due to high costs. Design elements, however, were tried to be used in subsequent models.

A Citroen with a turbine engine was never built. The design office worked on more modern models and soon the Xantia started on the market, followed by other cars.
