In electric mode, the A3 not only accelerates quickly, it also allows manual gear changes. To be able to use his sprint power at will, the paddles should be used properly, because in direct mode he immediately selects a high gear, which reduces the intermediate sprints to a competitive level. For recovery, on the other hand, it only offers a direct function that can be turned off, which considers the traffic ahead, but not the speed limit. In Stuttgart, for example, it does not have a great comfort function, because the limit of 40 km / h cannot be maintained by the accelerator pedal when going down the boiler. It is possible to use the cruise control, but it is not as convenient. In addition, the speed on the steering column lever can only be set in fifth increments (from 80 km / h: tenth increment).
The optional sports seats, which support and hold the lower shoulder area well without pressing anywhere, provide great comfort. Except for the lumbar support, the seats in the test car are adjusted manually, which is also used for the direction of the seat through the lever, but not for the integrated headrests. The center rest, which can be tilted and adjusted in height, increases the sitting comfort, which the rear passengers can also enjoy in the wonderfully shaped back seat. And what about fuel, electricity and maintenance costs?

Audi offers the 40 TFSI e Advanced for the A3 SB WLTP consumption of 1.0 liter Super and 14.6 kWh per 100 km. He departs from this value in everyday life. We determined an average consumption of 2.0 liters and 17.5 kWh, which results in a cost of 10.53 euros per 100 km. The Audi used 5.7 liters in the eco mode, while it used 7.2 liters in the passenger mode. If the Audi was moved in sports mode, consumption increased to 9.3 liters.
