The new Peugeot 408 will also appear on the European market. But unlike the sedan released in China, it will be a completely different car. We have to wait a little longer for the premiere.
Peugeot is working to expand its model range. In Europe, it is very successful, because both urban 208 and crossover 2008 are on sales levels, successfully competing with German products. Now the brand wants to repeat the success of Renault and will introduce a crossover coupe, because the new Peugeot 408 will appear in such a body.
It is possible that it will be given a different name that will better reflect the size of the car.
The new European Peugeot 408 will look based on elements from the 308, of course, except for the very long rear end. We will see the car later this month, because the brand has ambitious plans for sales development and wants to introduce this solution to its version as soon as possible. The crossover coupe will have more ground clearance than the 308, and there will also be a larger trunk.
Peugeot looks with envy at its French competitor Arkana – this Renault model has been very successful. The crossover coupe body is chosen by people who, on the one hand, do not want an SUV, but on the other hand, need a bigger car. It seems that it will be the successor of sedans and the middle class.
In terms of engines, the new Peugeot should have the same drives as the 308, including hybrids. Will the manufacturer be tempted to buy a GT version with 300 hp? We have to wait until the premiere.
