In 1993, Citroen sold models such as Citroen XM, Xantia, ZX and AX. The first impressions of models like the Xsara Picasso were still ahead of the brand. And yet it was that the first sketches of the minivan, which were later put into production, were created.
The author of the above work is one of Citroen’s designers, Daniel Abamson, who is already known to readers of Francuska.pl. He is the one who in 1993 designed a small shower car to be manufactured by Citroën. The artwork is very detailed and shows a lot of design intent.

Attention is given to the front by very large, strongly raised chevrons, and a large grill with a cut-out in the marked hood. The large oval lamps already have something in common with those of the later Picasso, although the full frontal shape was never used. The design of the rims looks very modern, it looks full, with red inserts, optically reduce their weight. Their size is also worth appreciating – at that time, usually 14″ or 15″ wheels were installed.

The windshield is also a piece of designer art, extending strongly to the bottom of the hood. Its shape is inverted chevrons. In turn, the side of the car has interesting solutions that were used later, among others, in the C4 Picasso, namely low-slope windows at the front. The rear ones are visually smaller, which visually increases the car – a solution that is used today in SUVs and crossovers.
Watch: How did a small Citroën car fit on a child’s head?
The project does not look like 1993 – it looks more like modern cars, which shows how graphic work on new models was in those years.
